Innovodigm Raises Rs 5.5 Crore Seed Round to Advance Needle-Free Vaccine Delivery Platform

Medtech startup Innovodigm has secured Rs 5.5 crore in a seed funding round led by the Indian Angel Network (IAN), which contributed Rs 4.5 crore, while the remaining investment came from PadUp Ventures. The fresh capital will be used to optimize processes, expand infrastructure, and grow the team as Innovodigm prepares for third-party preclinical validation and subsequent clinical trials, the company said in a press statement.

Founded by Jhimli Manna and Ayan Chatterjee in 2020, Innovodigm is at the forefront of a novel Microneedle Array Patch (MAP) platform—a cutting-edge, needle-free, thermostable vaccine delivery system to overcome the challenges associated with traditional injectable vaccines. Unlike conventional vaccines relying on cold-chain supply chains, Innovodigm micro-array patches include thermostabilized vaccines that remain effective for 120 days even at temperatures of 40°C. This innovation may greatly decrease cold-storage expenses, minimize medical waste, and enhance vaccine availability in underserved areas.

The startup’s technology has gained institutional acclaim already. Its MAP platform was designated as a Top 2 Technology at the Nano Electronics Showcase 2025, an event organized by the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Innovodigm has also entered into a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) with an Indian vaccine company to facilitate third-party verification, with clinical trials to be initiated in 2026.

Merging out of IIT Kharagpur’s Microelectronics and MEMS Lab, Innovodigm stands at the interface of biomedical engineering and public health innovation. The firm plans to scale up immunization to be more accessible and affordable for domestic as well as global markets. Its MAP platform is being designed for mass administration of several vaccines such as those for measles, hepatitis, flu, and COVID-19 boosters.

Aligned with its overarching vision, Innovodigm intends to create decentralized manufacturing centers that will facilitate localized production and tackle distribution issues, particularly in low- and middle-income nations where reliance on cold chains can impede vaccination initiatives. This funding round enables Innovodigm to expedite the advancement and implementation of its needle-free vaccine delivery system, potentially revolutionizing the storage, transportation, and administration of vaccines globally.
