Natasha Malpani Launches Rs 200 Crore Fund to Back India’s Next Wave of AI Startups
In a significant boost to India’s growing artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, investor and entrepreneur Natasha Malpani has announced the launch of Boundless Ventures, an early-stage investment firm dedicated to nurturing AI-native startups. The fund, with a corpus of Rs 200 crore, is positioned to back innovative founders building across the AI spectrum—from consumer applications and infrastructure to specialized industry solutions and hardware innovations.
Malpani, who previously served as a partner at Kae Capital and is also known for her entrepreneurial journey with Boundless Media and Dice Media, has raised this fund through her personal network of friends and family. With Boundless Ventures, she aims to provide not just financial backing but also strategic and operational support to emerging founders at the most critical stages of their journeys.
Investing at the Earliest Stages
Boundless Ventures will primarily write pre-seed and seed stage cheques, targeting companies that are building AI solutions with potential to scale across global markets. The fund’s investment thesis is broad yet focused, covering AI consumer applications, infrastructure and tooling, vertical-specific use cases in industries like healthcare and logistics, as well as Make-in-India hardware.
The firm has already moved quickly, investing in six startups to date. Its portfolio includes:
SuperHealth – a digital healthcare platform leveraging AI to improve patient outcomes.
Armatrix – a robotics company advancing automation solutions.
Piersight – a spacetech startup working on AI-driven satellite insights.
Knot – a 60-minute fashion delivery platform reimagining fast commerce.
Two stealth-mode startups—one focused on AI infrastructure and the other on consumer-facing AI solutions.
These early investments signal the fund’s appetite for bold, high-potential ideas that can reshape industries.
“AI Is Moving From Experiments to Infrastructure”
Speaking about the fund’s vision, Malpani highlighted the inflection point India finds itself at in the AI revolution.
“We’re at a moment where AI is moving from experiments to infrastructure, and the next decade will be defined by teams who can transform raw capability into enduring systems and categories,” she said. “Founders who can marry technical depth with cultural fluency will be the ones who set the terms of the next wave. Boundless exists to back those founders before the world catches on.”
Malpani added that she created Boundless Ventures to be the kind of fund she herself needed as a founder—sharp, fast, and rooted in trust.
Beyond Capital: Building Ecosystems
What sets Boundless Ventures apart is its commitment to going beyond just capital infusion. The Fund pledges to assist founders in storytelling, market access, and networks—which will be key from scaling startups from India to the world. It is this distinct operational experience borne out of Malpani’s experience as a former operator, creative storytelling paths, and venture investing role, with all of that her understanding allows her portfolio companies to have a differentiated valuation.
Malpani has successfully scaled content ventures like Dice Media and later, Boundless Media and she brings a cross-disciplinary lens to the table. The cross-disciplinary mix of creativity and strategy is very important in the age of AI, where building the three pillars of trust, adoption, and the narrative experience, are more important than the technology itself.
Capitalising on India’s Generative AI Explosion
Boundless Ventures’ timing is meaningful. The figures suggest that during the first seven months of 2025 alone, generative AI start-ups in India raised $524 million – the largest increase in funding for the sector in the last five years! Global investors are betting on India to become a target for AI engineers and talent, as well as AI innovation, with a large engineering pool, a developed start-up ecosystem, and government interest in building digital infrastructure.
Malpani’s movement also showcases the increasing momentum of India’s AI story. At the stage of the startup building process and at its earliest stages of development, Boundless Ventures will have the opportunity to catalyze the development of the next generation of AI-first companies that can compete on a global level.
A Host of Opportunities
At the end of the day, Boundless Ventures embodies Malpani’s belief that founders require more than just funding to succeed. By providing trust, flexibility and long-form support, the fund aims to support founders who are not only technically perceptive, but also culturally attuned to the markets they serve.
With Rs 200 crore to invest, a growing portfolio of ambitious startups, and a founder-investor at the helm who has experienced the entrepreneurial path herself, Boundless Ventures is ready to step into one of the leading roles in India’s AI future.
