Flam Raises $40 Million in Funding, Led by QED Investors

AI Interactive Content Startup Flam Raises $40 Million in Series B Funding Led by QED Investors

Bengaluru-based AI interactive content startup Flam has raised $40 million in Series B funding, in a round led by QED Investors, as the company looks to scale its AI technology and expand its enterprise business across global markets.

The funding round also saw participation from Claypond Capital, Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel, Venky Harinarayan and Shah Rukh Khan, along with existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail.

Flam plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate research and development across its AI models, expand its product portfolio and strengthen enterprise sales internationally. The company is also investing in technologies designed to bring greater interactivity to digital content across marketing, commerce, entertainment and customer engagement.

Building the Next Generation of Interactive Content

Founded in 2021 by Shourya Agarwal, Malhar Patil and Amit Gaiki, Flam is developing AI technologies that turn conventional digital content into interactive experiences.

Its platform is designed for enterprise applications spanning marketing, product visualisation, learning and development, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support and sales.

Flam said it has onboarded more than 100 enterprise customers over the past six quarters, including Google, Reliance and Hyundai. The startup has also built a technology portfolio comprising more than 15 patents and multiple AI models focused on content generation, editing, streaming and interaction.

The company is targeting a growing enterprise demand for AI-powered experiences that can go beyond static images, videos and traditional digital interfaces.

Flam’s Interactive Content Technology

A key part of Flam’s platform is its suite of interactive content formats, including Flicks, Forge and Airboards, alongside its Fable image-to-video model.

Flicks enables interactive videos in which people, products or scenes can be modified during playback. Flam said the technology uses a patented compression algorithm and programmatic delivery, with a reported 50-millisecond time-to-first-buffer.

Forge is an image-reference editing model designed to modify specific elements within visual content. The technology gives users greater control over individual components while preserving the broader creative output.

Airboards focuses on high-fidelity 3D experiences delivered through a camera-based interface. It supports touch, voice and haptic interactions, allowing users to engage with 3D content through multiple input methods.

According to Flam, its 3D streaming technology enables Airboards experiences to load in around 300 milliseconds without requiring users to install a dedicated application.

The startup has also developed Fable, an image-to-video model capable of producing visual assets as native alpha-channel videos, which can be integrated into a range of digital experiences.

Expanding Into AI-Powered Visual Agents

Flam is also moving beyond interactive content into conversational AI through its Visual Agents technology.

The company describes Visual Agents as human-like digital characters capable of engaging in conversations and carrying out agentic actions. The technology combines several internally developed systems, including Fantom, Finesse and Falcon.

Fantom focuses on facial expressions, identity preservation and motion transfer to support more realistic digital characters. Finesse provides multilingual voice capabilities, while Falcon is a 26-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts large language model designed to power conversational intelligence.

Flam said its technology pipeline can deliver responses in less than two seconds, while Falcon has a reported 30-millisecond time-to-first-token.

By combining visual generation, speech, language models and real-time interaction, Flam is developing AI interfaces that extend beyond conventional text-based chatbots toward more immersive digital experiences.

Global Growth Strategy

Although founded in Bengaluru, Flam is now headquartered in San Francisco, with teams across India and Japan. The company currently has five AI models, more than 15 patents and over 100 enterprise customers globally.

The latest Series B investment is expected to support the startup’s continued AI research, product development and international expansion.

As enterprises increasingly experiment with generative AI, interactive video, 3D environments and conversational interfaces, Flam is positioning its technology around the convergence of AI, content and real-time digital interaction.

With fresh funding and an expanding enterprise customer base, the startup is now focused on scaling its technology stack and taking its AI-powered interactive content platform to a wider global market.
