Cast Insights Raises $4.5 Million Pre-Seed to Transform Ephemeral Speech Into Real-Time Intelligence

Cast Insights has emerged from stealth with the launch of an artificial intelligence platform designed to convert publicly available spoken content into real-time competitive intelligence, alongside the announcement of a $4.5 million pre-seed funding round.

The financing was led by Abstract Ventures and included participation from HF0, Village Global, Max Ventures, Embassy Ventures, Stratus Ventures and several other investors. The company said the new capital will be used to expand its platform and accelerate the collection and analysis of spoken content from around the world.

Rather than relying on predictive models, Cast Insights focuses on monitoring public conversations as they happen. Its platform analyzes audio from thousands of publicly available sources—including podcasts, radio broadcasts, legislative proceedings and other spoken media—to identify emerging trends, changing narratives and early signals that could influence markets, policy decisions and business strategy.

The company’s technology is built around what it describes as “ephemeral speech data”—spoken information that is publicly accessible but often disappears without being archived or analyzed. By using AI to process this content in real time, the platform captures details such as speakers, topics, timing and shifts in sentiment, transforming transient conversations into searchable intelligence.

Cast Insights said its platform is designed for institutional users including investors, corporate strategy teams, policymakers and media organizations seeking faster insights into developing events and public discourse.

Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Otávio Costa Miranda said the company aims to improve decision-making by helping organizations better understand current developments instead of relying solely on forecasts. He described spoken public content as one of the world’s largest untapped data sources, offering valuable signals before broader trends become widely recognized.

According to the company, the opportunity is significant. Millions of podcasts and tens of thousands of radio stations worldwide generate a continuous stream of spoken information every day, much of which has historically remained difficult to monitor at scale.

Since launching its platform, Cast Insights says it has collected more than 2.3 million hours of speech data spanning over 20 countries and 10 languages. The startup plans to expand its processing capabilities to 20 million hours while monitoring approximately 500,000 hours of live audio each day. The company also aims to build what it describes as the largest U.S. dataset of publicly available spoken content by covering major radio and television broadcasts alongside podcast programming.

Cast Insights was also selected for the HF0 Residency, a startup accelerator focused on experienced founders. The program admits a limited number of companies each cohort and is designed to help early-stage startups rapidly scale their businesses.

HF0 partner Evan Stites-Clayton said the firm’s investment was driven by the platform’s ability to deliver near real-time monitoring of spoken content, including rapid alerts, speaker-level analysis and large-scale narrative tracking, capabilities he believes could become increasingly valuable for institutional users.
