Mark Alsentzer Joins Kurv as Chief Technology Officer
Kurv has appointed Mark Alsentzer to its leadership team, bringing on a seasoned technology executive with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, payments, and business transformation. The company said the appointment will help accelerate platform growth and strengthen its AI-driven payments strategy.
“Mark brings a rare combination of AI expertise, payments depth, and seasoned business acumen,” said Afshin Yazdian, CEO of Kurv. “He is a transformational leader who can simplify complex technology into real-world impact. We are excited to have Mark help Kurv expand our platform and continue delivering a modern, merchant-driven payments experience.”
Alsentzer earned a degree in Computer Engineering with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence from Vanderbilt University. He began his career at a high-growth payments startup, where he worked across software development, quality assurance, technical sales, operations, and risk management, gaining broad experience throughout the payments ecosystem.
After the company was acquired by Citibank in 2007, Alsentzer held leadership roles at several acquisition-driven organizations, including Paysafe and Pavilion Payments, a gaming payments company spun off from Global Payments. During his tenure, he led technology modernization and operational transformation initiatives while helping build scalable payment platforms.
His background in AI, systems engineering, and payments technology aligns with Kurv’s focus on delivering simplified, technology-driven payment solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
In his new role, Alsentzer will oversee product and services enablement, organizational transformation, and the company’s long-term technology strategy. Kurv expects his leadership to support continued platform expansion, strengthen operational capabilities, and enhance the customer experience through AI-powered innovation.
“Kurv is doing some truly impressive work with AI, and what attracted me most is the thoughtful way it’s being implemented,” said Alsentzer. “It’s not innovation for its own sake—it’s enhancing a product suite that is already succeeding because of strong execution and collaboration. I’m excited to join the team and help accelerate that momentum with AI-driven intelligence.”
